Fly into Aspen

The most convenient way (of our personal recommendation) to get to Aspen is by flying to Aspen's airport. It's a mere 3 miles from the Aspen city limits and most every hotel therein. Many hotels also provide complimentary or on-demand transportation to and from the airport for your convenience, so when booking your accommodations do be sure to inquire about the hotel's services. Do note that flying into Aspen involves a smaller Canadair jet and a connection for most origins.

Fly into Denver

A more economical option can be to fly into the Denver and take the 4 hour drive either via rental car or shuttle (give Epic a call through the website below)

Fly to Eagle

Another and far less popular option is to fly into Eagle Airport. It's less common because it still involves a connecting flight only to still need to drive 2 hours. However, the fares are less expensive than flying into Aspen and the drive thereafter is shorter than flying into Denver.

Getting Around Snowmass

Rental Car

If you’d like to do some hikes or activities that are outside of the Snowmass it may be a good idea to get a rental car for your adventures. Most hotels offer complementary transportation in town or run shuttles between Snowmass and Aspen, but check with your hotel to see if the place you’d like to go is included.

Public Transport

The valley has an amazing free bus system that can take you anywhere in Aspen and Snowmass. Many of the places you may want to visit in Aspen are walking distance so if you choose not to rent a car the RFTA bus system is the ideal way to travel around town and even to Snowmass. Visit this site for schedules.

Uber/Lyft/Taxis

Sadly you can't anticipate the same availability of your favorite Uber and Lyft rides in Aspen. Although in peak season they do exist, (our wedding date falls within "shoulder" season) they aren’t as prevalent nor affordable. There is the local taxi company- High Mountain Taxi for your needs and we suggest saving their number in the case that you may need it:

Activities

Hike

Snowmass is a hiker's paradise! The most iconic hike is Maroon Bells. But the Ditch Trail is right in Snowmass and is right out the back door of many hotels. Check out this great site for numerous hikes in the area. Some require cars and others you can access from your hotel doorstep. Get out there and enjoy that fresh mountain air.

Fly Fishing with Aspen Outfitting Co.

Take a tranquil morning to get out on the Roaring Fork River. Arrange a guided fly fishing lesson to learn or perfect your casting technique. Don’t expect to take home a trout dinner as Colorado is a catch and release state.
